 Consider the last time you delivered or received feedback as a manager: wer
 e you filled with joy or dread? If you fall into that second camp\, let’s t
 alk! For many of us\, being on both sides of the feedback loop can be anxie
 ty-inducing and challenging. In this session\, we will talk through strateg
 ies to become more confident and effective in both giving and receiving fee
 dback. Let’s maximize the potential we have in these conversations by appro
 aching them with care and clarity. In this workshop\, we will be using an i
 nteractive approach to discuss strategies to improve our relationship with 
 feedback.</p><p><strong>Course Objectives:</strong><br />By the end of this
  session\, participants will be able to describe components of effective fe
 edback and apply multiple techniques in delivering actionable feedback. Lea
 rners will also be able to plan opportunities to collect useful feedback\, 
 demonstrate how to professionally receive feedback\, and implement feedback
  accurately and effectively.</p><p><strong>Target Audience</strong>: This w
 orkshop is for all Washington University in St. Louis staff who serve as pe
 ople managers and supervisors.</p><p><strong>Facilitator: </strong>Cortney 
 Knipp\, Education & Engagement Specialist</p><p>Cortney McEniry Knipp is a 
 dialogue facilitator\, learning strategist\, and instructional designer foc
 used on helping employees thrive at work. As a member of WashU’s Education 
 & Engagement team\, Cortney leads classes for the Commit and Act class seri
 es\, facilitating workshops on active communication and collaborative best 
 practices. Previously\, Cortney worked as a consulting team lead for Six Re
 d Marbles\, a boutique instructional design company. As Program Manager of 
 UVA Acts\, she established a university-wide learning program at The Univer
 sity of Virginia. Cortney’s career began as an applied theatre artist\, spe
 nding a decade facilitating complex dialogues in community-based and nonpro
 fit settings before transitioning into organizational learning and developm
 ent. She holds an MFA in Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities from T
 he University of Texas at Austin and a BA from Furman University.</p><p><st
 rong>An important note:</strong> This session is being held in person at th
