 Coaching as a practice has been growing in popularity in recent years\, but
  what could that mean for managers? How can those of us who supervise other
 s leverage coaching skills to be more effective in our work with others? An
 d what are coaching skills anyways? Come to this session to learn how to ap
 ply listening skills\, active inquiry skills\, and thoughtfully worded ques
 tions to better support your team.</p><p><strong>Course Objectives:</strong
 ><br />By the end of this session\, participants will be able to describe t
 he purpose\, benefit\, and scope of coaching. They will be able to perform 
 active listening skills in management conversations and practice active inq
 uiry and curiosity in one-to-one conversations. Learners will also be able 
 to ask thoughtfully worded questions to encourage reflection and growth in 
 others as well as identify scenarios to engage coaching skills within the s
 cope of the organization or teams they oversee. Finally\, participants will
  be able to determine opportunities to further develop coaching skills to a
 pply within the scope of their role.</p><p><strong>Target Audience</strong>
 : This workshop is for all Washington University in St. Louis staff who ser
 ve as people managers and supervisors.</p><p><strong>Facilitator: </strong>
 Carla Bailey\, Learning & Development Director</p><p>Carla is the Director 
 of Learning and Development at WashU\, where she leads the strategic direct
 ion and creation of innovative\, university-wide learning programs designed
  to enhance employees’ self-leadership and interpersonal skills. Her work a
 ims to elevate leadership capabilities across the broader population. With 
 over 30 years of experience\, Carla has been dedicated to helping senior le
 aders unlock their potential through coaching\, facilitating\, and speaking
  on leadership in complex environments. Drawing on her extensive expertise 
 in leadership and organizational development\, Carla also brings expertise 
 in executive coaching. Before joining WashU\, Carla held several senior lea
 dership roles\, including serving as a vice president in the corporate\, no
 nprofit\, and higher education sectors.</p><p><strong>An important note:</s
