 s="wp-block-paragraph">This course is a part of the Self-Leadership Learnin
 g Path\, a curated learning journey for WashU staff who want to lead with p
 urpose\, confidence and impact – no matter their role. This path offers six
  engaging instructor-led workshops (available virtually and in person) and 
 three flexible on-demand courses\, all designed to help you build the minds
 et\, skillset and habits to lead from within. The sessions within the path 
 do <strong>not</strong> need to be taken in a specific order\, allowing you
  to progress at your own pace and based on your interests.  <strong>These c
 ourses are available to all WashU staff and faculty at all levels</strong>.
 </p></div><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Course Description: </stron
 g>Resilience is not just about enduring hard times—it’s about finding meani
 ng\, reclaiming joy\, and rising again with purpose and clarity. In today’s
  rapidly changing world\, cultivating resilience is a critical life skill t
 hat empowers us to navigate uncertainty\, spring forward from adversity\, a
 nd grow through challenge. This highly interactive workshop invites partici
 pants to move beyond the idea of simply “powering through” and instead expl
 ore the mindset\, skillset\, and practices that support real\, sustainable 
 resilience—individually and in community.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">
 Participants will engage in reflection\, storytelling\, and small-group dia
 logue to explore how values\, purpose\, connection\, and emotional agility 
 can be leveraged to build internal reserves and external support systems. T
 hrough guided activities\, participants will identify their personal source
 s of strength\, map out a resilience plan using real-life tools\, and leave
  with actionable habits to stay grounded and energized in the face of ongoi
 ng change.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Learning Objectives:</s
 trong></p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">By the end of this workshop\, parti
 cipants will be able to:</p><ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Define re
 silience</strong> in a way that reflects both personal identity and collect
 ive experience\, distinguishing between surviving and thriving.</li></ul><u
 l class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Identify and reflect on their core valu
 es and personal “why”</strong> to create an internal foundation for resilie
 nce.</li></ul><ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Apply the Robertson Coo
 per Model of Resilience</strong> to assess current strengths and areas for 
 growth across four domains: purposefulness\, confidence\, support\, and ada
 ptability.</li></ul><ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Map personal resi
 lience strategies</strong> using the “4 S’s” framework—Supportive people\, 
 Strategies\, Sources of sagacity\, and Solution-seeking behaviors.</li></ul
 ><ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Practice one-minute resilience habit
 s</strong> that support mindset shifts\, energy renewal\, and emotional reg
 ulation.</li></ul><ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Foster psychologica
 l safety and give grace</strong>—to both themselves and others—by identifyi
 ng practical ways to create supportive environments that encourage risk-tak
 ing\, vulnerability\, and compassion.</li></ul><p class="wp-block-paragraph
 "><strong>Audience:</strong> This class is for all Washington University in
  St. Louis staff and faculty at any level (Leading Self\, Others\, or the O

 strong> The in-person sessions will take place at the Link in the Loop buil
 ding\, near the Danforth Campus (621 N. Skinker Blvd. Suite 300 | St. Louis
 \, MO 63130). Please park in the lot to the northeast of the building (in f
