  of the Self-Leadership Learning Path\, a curated learning journey for Wash
 U staff who want to lead with purpose\, confidence and impact – no matter t
 heir role. This path offers six engaging instructor-led workshops (availabl
 e virtually and in person) and three flexible on-demand courses\, all desig
 ned to help you build the mindset\, skillset and habits to lead from within
 . The sessions within the path do <strong>not</strong> need to be taken in 
 a specific order\, allowing you to progress at your own pace and based on y
 our interests.  <strong>These courses are available to all WashU staff and 
 faculty at all levels</strong>.</p></div><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><str
 ong>Course Description: </strong>Resilience is not just about enduring hard
  times—it’s about finding meaning\, reclaiming joy\, and rising again with 
 purpose and clarity. In today’s rapidly changing world\, cultivating resili
 ence is a critical life skill that empowers us to navigate uncertainty\, sp
 ring forward from adversity\, and grow through challenge. This highly inter
 active workshop invites participants to move beyond the idea of simply “pow
 ering through” and instead explore the mindset\, skillset\, and practices t
 hat support real\, sustainable resilience—individually and in community.</p
 ><p class="wp-block-paragraph">Participants will engage in reflection\, sto
 rytelling\, and small-group dialogue to explore how values\, purpose\, conn
 ection\, and emotional agility can be leveraged to build internal reserves 
 and external support systems. Through guided activities\, participants will
  identify their personal sources of strength\, map out a resilience plan us
 ing real-life tools\, and leave with actionable habits to stay grounded and
  energized in the face of ongoing change.</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">
 <strong>Learning Objectives:</strong></p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">By t
 he end of this workshop\, participants will be able to:</p><ul class="wp-bl
 ock-list"><li><strong>Define resilience</strong> in a way that reflects bot
 h personal identity and collective experience\, distinguishing between surv
 iving and thriving.</li></ul><ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Identify
  and reflect on their core values and personal “why”</strong> to create an 
 internal foundation for resilience.</li></ul><ul class="wp-block-list"><li>
 <strong>Apply the Robertson Cooper Model of Resilience</strong> to assess c
 urrent strengths and areas for growth across four domains: purposefulness\,
  confidence\, support\, and adaptability.</li></ul><ul class="wp-block-list
 "><li><strong>Map personal resilience strategies</strong> using the “4 S’s”
  framework—Supportive people\, Strategies\, Sources of sagacity\, and Solut
 ion-seeking behaviors.</li></ul><ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Pract
 ice one-minute resilience habits</strong> that support mindset shifts\, ene
 rgy renewal\, and emotional regulation.</li></ul><ul class="wp-block-list">
 <li><strong>Foster psychological safety and give grace</strong>—to both the
 mselves and others—by identifying practical ways to create supportive envir
 onments that encourage risk-taking\, vulnerability\, and compassion.</li></
 ul><p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Audience:</strong> This class is f
 or all Washington University in St. Louis staff and faculty at any level (L
 eading Self\, Others\, or the Organization )</p><p class="wp-block-paragrap
 h"><strong>Facilitator:</strong> Juman Al Bukhari\, PhD\, EdD – Senior Cons
 ultant\, HR Learning and Development</p><p class="wp-block-paragraph">With 
 a background in professorship\, research\, and expertise in higher educatio
 n leadership\, along with a doctorate in the field\, Juman enjoys deliverin
 g\, facilitating\, and teaching courses that develop WashU employees’ criti
 cal thinking\, creativity\, interdisciplinary collaboration\, problem-solvi
 ng\, and communication skills. She incorporates theory and practice into he
 r teaching to allow for practical exploration of real-life situations. Addi
 tionally\, she actively fosters collaboration and strives to achieve organi
 zational goals aligned with WashU’s mission and vision.</p><p class="wp-blo
