Alec Hester

Clinical Research Study Assistant II

Alec has been a clinical research assistant in the Sleepy Brain Lab within the Division of Clinical and Translational Research since 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Prior to joining the lab, he conducted research as an undergraduate in both microbiology studying E.coli, and in cognitive psychology studying the effects of stress on cognitive domains such as memory and attention. He aids the lab in subject screening, study development, operating EEG machines, and data collection and analysis. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the guitar, reading, and traveling.
