Chaltu Ayano, MD
Assistant Professor, Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology
Chaltu joined the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology in the fall of 2019 following her pediatric anesthesia fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a well-earned vacation. She very much enjoys and loves taking care of children — a privilege she cherishes every day. She is also involved with resident teaching, and routinely participates in SLCH-related activities, including teaching introduction to perioperative anesthesia to newly hired OR staff.
Chaltu has many interests outside of work. She loves to cook and also eat at various local establishments. St. Louis has pleasantly surprised her with its robust selection of local gems. To offset all the good eating, she usually starts her day with a run at the conveniently located Forest Park followed by a short bike commute to work. Additionally, Chaltu enjoys traveling, spending time with dear friends, entertaining friends, reading good books, and at times reading everything and anything—including a few tabloid articles throughout the day, the DailyMail being a great source of nonsense.
