Dr. Hadas Nahman-Averbuch is an associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at WashU Medicine. She earned her PhD in Medical Sciences from the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology under the mentorship of Dr. David Yarnitsky and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Coghill. In her Pain Across the Lifespan (PAL) Lab, Dr. Hadas Nahman-Averbuch studies the role of sex hormones in pain across adolescence and adulthood, with the goal of understanding why some individuals develop chronic pain conditions, such as migraine, endometriosis, and arthritis, while others do not.
Fun fact: Dr. Hadas Nahman-Averbuch loves dark chocolate and always carries some with her in her bag!
