In November 2023, Dr. Daniel Hernandez had the honor of representing WashU Medicine at TARK 2023, hosted by the Turkish Society of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation in Antalya, Turkey. As part of a mini symposium on trauma, Dr. Hernandez and other trauma anesthesia faculty, presented on regional anesthesia in the trauma population, highlighting its role in patient care, benefits, and the unique challenges. Case examples from our experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center, along with collaborations with trauma surgery and acute pain services, provided practical insights into real-world applications. Attending lectures by Turkish colleagues provided valuable perspectives, fostering a global exchange of ideas and reinforcing our commitment to international collaboration, shared knowledge, and excellence in patient care.
