Andrea Liefer, DNAP, CRNA

Andrea Liefer is the Chief Pediatric CRNA at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and an Assistant Professor and Clinical Scheduling Coordinator at Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois in 2001 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Louis University in 2002. Andrea went on to complete a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia at Webster University in 2010 and later earned her Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia Practice in 2021.

Andrea joined WashU Medicine in 2010 and quickly found her home in pediatrics, where she developed a particular passion for caring for cardiac patients. Her love for education led her to teach pediatric anesthesia at both Webster University and Goldfarb. In 2025, she joined the faculty team at Goldfarb, where she is deeply committed to shaping the future of nurse anesthesia.

Her dedication to excellence in clinical care, education, and collaborative leadership has been recognized through numerous honors including CRNA of the Quarter and selection as a finalist for St. Louis Magazine’s 2025 Excellence in Nursing Awards in the Advanced Practice category.

A proud native of Red Bud, Illinois, Andrea continues to live there with her husband, Darren, and their four children—Addison, Owen, Brynlee, and Finn. Much of her free time is spent cheering from the sidelines at her children’s sporting events or visiting her older kids at college. She remains active in her community as a member of the Red Bud Lions Club, where she became the first woman inducted in 2025, and as a founding member of the Red Bud Musketeer Booster’s Association.
