Dyan was born in Oxfordshire, England to a US military family and spent the better part of her life moving across the US and UK before settling in Birmingham, Alabama to pursue her degree. After graduating with her BS in biology from University of Alabama at Birmingham with additional studies in psychology and communicable disease, she dedicated nearly a decade to researching chronic pain and discrimination within populations living with HIV. In addition to supervising Dr. Burel Goodin’s Lab, Dyan trains and assists other researchers on quantitative sensory testing (QST) and protocol development. Outside of work, Dyan enjoys helping family and friends with projects and educating herself on ways to improve physical and mental health and wellness. New to St. Louis, she is eager to learn more about her new home and the people within it.
