Originally born in Minsk, Belarus, Dr. Maxim Wolfson lived in Jerusalem, Israel, for several years before settling in St. Louis at a young age.  Dr. Wolfson attended Washington University in St. Louis graduating summa cum laude with a BS in biomedical engineering in 2010. He earned his MD at WUSM in 2015 and joined the Department of Anesthesiology for residency, and then a fellowship in regional and acute pain.  In 2020 he became faculty in the Divisions of Regional & Ambulatory Anesthesiology and General Anesthesiology, and assumed the role POD 4 leader one year later. Aside from regional and community anesthesia, his special interests are in quality improvement initiatives as well as mentoring and educating medical students, residents, and fellows. He currently serves as the faculty advisor to the medical student Anesthesia Interest Group.
