Andrew Thorsen, MD
Resident, Class of 2025
Andrew Thorsen is an anesthesia resident (CA-2) at Washington University in St. Louis. A native Texan, Andrew was born in Austin, grew up in Dallas, and attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. After graduating with his medical degree, he was drawn to the anesthesiology program at WashU because of the breadth of clinical experiences, the department’s strong presence in the ICUs, and the philosophy, “Train here, thrive anywhere.” Andrew is excited to pursue a fellowship in regional anesthesia after residency.
Andrew lives with his wife, Kirsten, and two corgis–Jax and Cooper. He enjoys walks in Forest Park, playing basketball, discovering new restaurants, and keeping up with all things sports. Outside the OR, you might find him proudly repping 2023 Texas Rangers Championship gear! Fun fact–Andrew enjoys exploring old cathedrals–their distinct architecture, stained glass windows, and features that make them unique. One of his favorites is Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, France.
