Simon Haroutounian, PhD, MSc, and Amjad Musleh, MD, have been awarded the 2023 Distinguished Service Teaching Awards for demonstrating exceptional effort, dedication, and patience in their teaching roles.

Residents from the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis excelled in presenting their research and case reports at the 2024 Midwest Anesthesia Resident Conference (MARC) held in Omaha on April 5-7, 2024.

Sanofsky receives Junior Faculty Pediatric Anesthesia Research Award at AUA 2024 Annual Meeting

Benjamin Sanofsky, MD, MS Ed, instructor in anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, was selected as the recipient of the Junior Faculty Pediatric Anesthesia Research Award by the Association of University Anesthesiologists (AUA) during the 2024 AUA Annual Meeting on March 22-23 in St. Louis.

Lou receives Best Research Abstract at the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists

Sunny Lou, MD, PhD, an instructor in anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, was awarded first place in the Best Clinical Research Abstract competition at the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists meeting held in Singapore on March 3-7, 2024.

Boland honored as Physician of the Year by Christian Hospital Foundation

Matthew Boland, MD, associate professor of anesthesiology and director of the Intensive Care Unit at Christian Hospital, received the Physician of the Year award at the 80s-themed Christian Hospital Foundation’s Gala on March 2, 2024.

New Appointments

Inaugural Associate Vice-Chair for Faculty and Educator Development

We are excited to announce the Department of Anesthesiology’s inaugural Associate Vice-Chair for Faculty and Educator Development, Rachel Moquin, EdD. This appointment recognizes Dr. Moquin’s senior leadership role, her unmatched expertise, and her countless department contributions to date.

APP Leadership Announcement

We are excited to announce the appointment of Trish Wilkinson, ACNP-BC, as the Director of APP Clinical Operations within the Division of Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology. In tandem, we are pleased to also announce Sarah Cooley, AGACNP-BC, and Shawn Reynolds, MS, MSPAS, PA-C, EMCAQ, as Co-Assistant APP Directors.
