Deven Stepney

Deven Stepney, a native of St. Louis, serves as the Program Manager for the POWER Office, overseeing all aspects of Professional Development, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Well-Being initiatives. His journey in the DEI realm began during his college years when he contributed to the establishment of the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Northwest Missouri State University, where he started as an intern and later assumed the role of lead student worker.

During his college tenure, Deven actively engaged in HIV testing, and after graduation, he ventured into the Public Health sector, aiding a team of volunteers and providers in developing a system of care for individuals living with HIV. Deven assumed his current role in September 2023 while residing in Texas. Interestingly, he received the job offer while en route to the airport for a Beyonce concert in St. Louis. Speaking of Beyonce, Deven is an avid fan and proudly identifies himself as the self-appointed President of the STL Chapter of the Beyhive.
