The Sandy Hawes Memorial Award honors the life and accomplishments of Sandy Hawes by recognizing an outstanding non-clinical, administrative staff member who serves in a supportive role within the Department of Anesthesiology. The award celebrates distinguished individual achievement and meaningful contributions that positively impact our department.
Eligibility
Nominees must be non-clinical, administrative staff members within the Department of Anesthesiology. Any member of the department may submit a nomination. While a single nomination is welcome, multiple nominations or additional letters of support from a supervisor, clinical leader, or executive staff member will carry increased weight in the selection process.
Nominees should demonstrate:
- Significant individual achievements and specific contributions to the department
- A positive and lasting impact on colleagues and departmental operations
- Excellent communication skills
- Professionalism, dedication, and a supportive spirit
- A willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty
- Strong collaboration within a multidisciplinary team
- An established presence within the department
The recipient of the Sandy Hawes Memorial Award will receive the following:
- Recognition on the department’s website
- Name added to the memorial award plaque located in the Peters Building
- Cash award
