
The Department of Anesthesiology is excited to share that Sydney Nykiel-Bailey, DO, was recently appointed as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Children’s Medical Executive Committee (CMEC) at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Nykiel-Bailey serves as the Director of the Anesthesiology Residency Program and Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at WashU Medicine.
The CMEC comprises an exceptional group of healthcare professionals who oversee several crucial domains, such as credentialing, corrective actions, and policies and regulations. In her new role as Secretary/Treasurer, Nykiel-Bailey will help guide these important processes, ensuring the highest standards of patient care at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Nykiel-Bailey will be working closely with Dolores Njoku, MD, the current Chair of the CMEC. Their leadership within the committee underscores the strength and impact of WashU Medicine Anesthesiology faculty in advancing pediatric healthcare, and their combined expertise and commitment will help improve care for patients, families, and the broader community.
