Alexis is an Administrative Coordinator for the Research Division within the Department of Anesthesiology at WashU Medicine. She splits her time between the Haroutounian Lab and the Center for Clinical Pharmacology. Outside of work, she enjoys exercise, reading, learning guitar, participating in church activities, and hanging out with her family!

A Day in the Life of Jimmy Moss, MD

Jimmy is a nocturnal intensivist at WashU Medicine. Outside of work, he dedicates his time to writing, reading, spending time with his daughters, engaging in charitable initiatives, and playing basketball. His book, available on his website, chronicles his inspiring journey from youth homelessness to Harvard. All proceeds from the book sales have been donated to national and local charities, supporting causes such as domestic violence shelters, women’s safe houses, and homelessness initiatives in the St. Louis area. Since 2023, Jimmy has raised and donated over $16,000 through his book sales.

A Day in the Life of John Del Rosario, PhD

Dr. Del Rosario is a postdoctoral research associate in the Laboratory of Dr. Robert Gereau in the Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Del Rosario’s research focuses on the understanding of mechanisms that drive adaptive and maladaptive plasticity in the peripheral nervous system to modulate pain and mechanosensation. Dr. Del Rosario is originally from the Dominican Republic and enjoys karaoke nights and, of course, great Latin American music (salsa, merengue, and bachata). Read about his day in the life!

Meet Brian Torres, a CRNA in the Department of Anesthesiology, and also the assistant director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program, a collaboration between WashU Anesthesiology and Barnes-Jewish College of Nursing. Brian’s clinical practice focuses on anesthesia for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. In his role as faculty, his teaching focuses on anesthetic pharmacology, preoperative health assessment, simulation, and the basic principles of anesthesiology. Dr. Higo shares a glimpse into his daily routine as a physician who holds the position of vice-chair of innovation while carrying a whole load of clinical responsibilities. Melissa Clary is the business director for the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology and the Division of Perioperative Medicine. She is a St. Louis native and completed her undergraduate degree at WashU. In her current role, Melissa is responsible for providing business and operational leadership for her divisions, including strategic planning and financial and operations management, and supporting the development of people, programs, and initiatives. She loves to spend time with her fiance, family, and friends in her free time, travel, and be active, especially to be outdoors with her Brittany Spaniel, Tillie.

Paige is originally from Sullivan, MO, and earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Columbia College. She started her career in healthcare in 2017 as a patient care technician to gain experience for physician assistant school.
