We are saddened and angered by the recent violence fueled by white supremacy and racism in Buffalo, Laguna Woods, and Dallas. We honor those who lost their lives. We grieve with those who lost loved ones and all who are impacted by the trauma of these events.

ASSURE Fellows and Scholars reflect on their summer spent learning and researching alongside medical professionals.
Peers in Anesthesiology Supporting a Fair Environment (PIA SAFE) is a new peer-based program in the Department of Anesthesiology aimed to help address concerns about negative behaviors, conflicts, and microaggressions experienced by members of the department.
The ASSURE fellowship program aims to better attract, train, mentor, and provide long-term career support for college students from the St. Louis metro area.
We are excited to introduce the inaugural cohort of Anesthesiology Summer Research Fellowship (ASSURE) scholars. Join us in extending a warm welcome to Brandi and Bulenda!
Dr. Markowitz will work closely with other senior leaders in the Anesthesiology Department, with University and Health System leaders, and with others who are leading initiatives to transform our institutional culture.
As medical schools across the country work to address systemic racism in medicine and foster more inclusive communities, one new initiative aims to increase diversity and advance anti-racism in academic anesthesiology.
The ASSURE fellowship program will provide college students from the St. Louis metro area an opportunity to engage in basic, clinical, and/or translational research projects.
