Dr. Sunny Lou has been awarded the 2022 International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) Mentored Research Award for her project “Intelligent Clinical Decision Support for Perioperative Blood Management.”
Bernadette Henrichs, PhD, CRNA, CCRN, CHSE, FAANA, received the 43rd Helen Lamb Outstanding Educator Award from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) for her significant contributions to the education of nurse anesthetists.

She will have an appointment in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology where she will perform her clinical work, and she will have a research appointment in the Division of Clinical and Translational Research (DoCTR) with a joint appointment with the Institute for Informatics (I2) within Washington University School of Medicine.

Sunny Lou, MD, PhD, a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellow at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis was awarded $50,000 in funding to measure inpatient clinician work patterns and inter-professional communication from the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Electronic Health Record (EHR) use Metrics Research Project.
