Dear Colleagues –
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Bruno Maranhao joined the Department of Anesthesiology faculty at Washington University in St. Louis on August 1, 2022. He will have appointments in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology and the Division of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Maranhao completed his undergraduate work at the University of California, Los Angeles before earning a PhD (Bioengineering) and his MD at the University of California, San Diego. He was then recruited to our Department of Anesthesiology where he completed our residency program, serving as a chief resident in his final year. Following residency, he pursued fellowships in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology as well as Critical Care Medicine, both here at Washington University in St. Louis. Thankfully, we have been successful in recruiting him to stay at Washington University in St. Louis as faculty.
He has an interest in automation, quality, and process improvement, with multiple ongoing projects related to these interests. He also is passionate about fostering a positive and gratifying work environment.
