Dear Colleagues –
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Danish Jaffer as the program director of the Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship Program, following a rigorous nationwide search process. Dr. Jaffer has been an integral member of the Department of Anesthesiology (WUDA) since July 2021, having completed his anesthesia residency and obstetric anesthesiology fellowship at WashU.
Prior to this important role, Dr. Jaffer served as the chair of the Clinical Competency Committee for the Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship Program and played an integral role in the Fellowship Recruitment Committee where his opinions about potential fellowship candidates were highly valued.
Dr. Jaffer has also made significant contributions to the educational experience of trainees in obstetric anesthesiology by scheduling faculty lectures, moderating topics of interest for journal clubs, and actively seeking feedback from faculty to ensure trainees are meeting their training milestones. This is enhanced by his participation in the inaugural cohort of WUDA’s ‘Developing Expertise in Clinical Education’ program, an initiative led by our Director for Learning and Development, Dr. Rachel Moquin.
Given his extensive experience, Dr. Jaffer is eminently qualified to lead the Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship Program. We are thrilled to have him on our team and look forward to his contributions in the years to come.
