Department of Anesthesiology APP of the Quarter: June 2022
Clair Visconti is a Physician Assistant from Alton, Illinois. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of Missouri in 2016, and then earned a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri in December of 2019. Clair has been with the Department of Anesthesiology at WashU for two years.
From the first time she stepped foot in an ICU as a student, Clair has been passionate about critical care. She is committed to providing thoughtful and compassionate care for her patients, and is dedicated to her continued education. She loves being able to work together with her colleagues as a team.
Clair was named the Q2 2022 APP of the Quarter!

Sherri Vogt

Department of Anesthesiology Featured Member: November 2019
Sherri is the lab manager for Dr. Gereau. She has worked in the Department of Anesthesiology for 11 years and has been at Washington University for over 30 years. Sherri has two children; Megan and Derek. Outside of work, she loves to go antique shopping with her husband. In her spare time, she sings in a community choir, teaches Sunday school, reads and enjoys watching the Blues.
Daniel Wachter, ACNP-BC
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Department of Anesthesiology Featured Member: August 2020
Dan grew up in South County, St. Louis, where he currently resides and is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP). He earned his BSN through Maryville University and then worked at Missouri Baptist Medical Center as a nurse in the ICU for seven years. While working full time at Missouri Baptist, he also went to school full time to earn his ACNP license and then joined the department in April 2018. Currently, Dan works in the ICU at Christian Hospital Northeast with an amazing group of Advanced Practice Practitioners (APPs) and physicians. “I feel blessed to be a part of such a great team and for the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally with such great individuals.” Dan looks forward to begin precepting the students of the Goldfarb School of Nursing ACNP program this winter. He lives with his wife Sarah and their four children Lucy (4), Charlotte (2), Isabel (1), and August (1). In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his kids in the outdoors, swimming, SCUBA, and cooking.
Ashley Weinhold, MD
Assistant Professor, Pediatric Anesthesiology

Dr. Ashley Weinhold is an assistant professor of anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She is originally from Arkansas, earning her bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Central Arkansas. She attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine. Dr. Weinhold then completed her residency in anesthesiology at Washington University/BJC. After completing a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Washington University/St. Louis Children’s Hospital in 2016, she joined the faculty. She has been involved in education efforts within the division ever since!
Dr. Weinhold started as associate program director for the pediatric anesthesiology fellowship in 2020 and took over as program director for the fellowship in 2021. Her main areas of clinical interest are pediatric trauma and mass casualty planning as well as pediatric acute pain and regional anesthesia. She was recently elected as Clinical Representative to the Executive Committee of the Faculty Council for Washington University School of Medicine, beginning AY 23-24.
Ashley lives with her husband Mark and their two sons. When not busy at work, she loves spending time with her family enjoying all the fabulous things St. Louis has to offer – Grant’s farm, the science museum, the zoo, the museum of transportation, and the botanical gardens, just to name a few! She loves reading and is also looking forward to some traveling this year!
