Accra, Ghana

Anand Lakshminarasimhachar, MD, and Daniel A. Emmert, MD, PhD, served as faculty mentors for two cardiothoracic anesthesia fellows—Philip Copper, MD, and Julianne Donnelly, MD,—on a trip to Accra, Ghana, in spring of 2014. They visited the National Cardiothoracic Centre at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for a month where they provided didactic lectures, clinical intra-operative teaching and participated in QI projects with the faculty, residents and CRNAs.
