El Salvador

Three of our physicians—Drs. Brown-Shpigel, McCormick and Hawksworth—traveled to El Salvador as part of Surgical Outreach for the Americas (SoFA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to safe surgical care in resource-limited settings. During the trip, they worked alongside local clinicians to provide essential surgical services and support capacity-building efforts within the community. Their participation reflects our department’s commitment to global health, collaboration, and improving care beyond our walls.
