Guatemala City, Guatemala

In 2019, regional division faculty member, Dr. Wolfson, traveled to Guatemala for a two-week anesthesiology resident exchange program at Roosevelt Hospital in Guatemala City. This program supported local resident education, specifically in pediatric anesthesiology, and consisted of classroom and operating room learning and collaboration. While there, the team was able to explore Guatemalan culture, food, landmarks, and sights. Guatemalan residents also traveled to WashU Medicine to observe the U.S. medical system and share their experiences and knowledge. The program built bridges and supported several such exchanges over several years.
