The department is pleased to announce that Dr. Maxim Wolfson has accepted the role of an Anesthesiology POD 4 Leader.
In this exciting clinical leadership role, Dr. Wolfson will be partnering with Washington University School of Medicine colleagues and Barnes-Jewish Hospital Perioperative leadership and frontline clinicians in promoting safety, quality and efficiency of perioperative care in POD 4. He will further our efforts towards enhancing teamwork, diversity and inclusion, and to ensuring that POD 4 is nurturing and safe environment for all members of the healthcare team, including residents, fellows, CRNAs, SRNAs, medical students, and nursing trainees.
Dr. Wolfson is a highly trained physician who will add great value to this important leadership position. He will continue in the tradition of excellence in POD 4 leadership, succeeding directly Dr. Jamie Brown Shpigel who was the POD 4 leader in the past academic year.
Dr. Wolfson received his MD from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He completed Residency in Anesthesiology (2019) and a Regional Anesthesia Fellowship, both at Barnes Jewish Hospital and Washington University (2020). Dr. Wolfson is currently an Instructor in the Divisions of General and Regional Anesthesia and works as an attending anesthesiologist in the BJH general operating rooms and on the regional anesthesia service.
We are greatly indebted to Dr. Brown-Shpigel for the significant contributions she has made while in the POD 4 leadership role. We are pleased she will continue in our department as a Fellow in the Critical Care program and look forward to seeing her continued leadership in the department.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Wolfson on assuming this important clinical leadership position. We look forward to working with him in this new capacity.
