Sandhya Tripathi is a staff scientist in the lab. Her research adventures flow from her background in statistics and machine learning, combined with a keen curiosity about all things biology and medicine. She’s particularly excited about creating AI-based clinical decision support systems, from designing AI models to deploying them in EHR systems, and exploring how these models impact different societal demographics. Before joining the lab, Sandhya solved intriguing machine learning problems in the peri-operative space as a postdoctoral researcher. She earned her PhD in operations research from IEOR, IIT Bombay, and her undergraduate degree in statistics from Delhi University. Now, she’s thrilled to be diving into the critical care field and making a real-world impact.
When she’s not sitting in front of her computer, Sandhya loves hanging out with her orange cat, Cauro, and chasing the ever-elusive orange brain cell. She’s also an amateur fiction reader, polyglot, hiker, and long-distance runner, among other things. Forget her name? Just yell “chocolate”—the chances she’ll turn around are astonishingly high (like 1!).
