PRC’s Excellence in Healthcare program recently presented the 5-Star Award certificate and accompanying banner to the team at the CAM Pain Management Center.

The Department of Anesthesiology is proud to announce the Pain Management Center (PMC) as a recipient of one of the 2019 Professional Research Consultants (PRC) 5-Star Awards. PRC is a leading healthcare market research and consulting organization devoted to helping hospital leaders, staff, and physicians achieve excellence.

The 5-star award designation is given annually to facilities that score in the top 10% of PRC’s national client database and is based on the percentage of hospital patients who rate the facility “excellent” when answering the question that asks them to rank the overall quality of care that they received from the facility. The PMC in the Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM) received exceptional rankings and scored in the 90th percentile nationwide.

This award honors the dedication of every member of the Pain Center team and their patients every day. Their communication, collaboration, and compassion combine to provide exceptional patient care.

“It’s wonderful to see these patient satisfaction results and for our pain center to receive this national recognition by the PRC,” said Robert Gereau, PhD, Vice Chair for Research for the Department of Anesthesiology and Director of the Washington University Pain Center. “This of course could not have been accomplished without our outstanding clinicians, nurses, and staff members who continuously go out of their way to make our patients’ needs their number one priority.”

Though awarded earlier in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the delivery and celebration of the award until this fall.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this wonderful achievement!
