The department is pleased to announce the appointment of Branden Yee, MD, MPH, as the Interim Division Chief of Anesthesiology for the Barnes West County Division.
In this role, Dr. Yee will oversee anesthesiology services across the Barnes West County Division, encompassing Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital (BJWCH), the Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Orthopedic Center, and the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). He will collaborate with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and institutional leaders to elevate the quality and safety of perioperative care, foster professional growth for team members, and prioritize advancements in regional anesthesiology.
“Dr. Yee has provided years of consistent leadership in his role as the Director of the Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM) in South County and the BJWCH ASC,” says Vice Chair for Clinical Operations, Chak Lattanand, MD, MBA. “He is highly regarded by our partnering surgeons and hospital leaders, and we are very fortunate to have him as a division chief.”
Dr. Yee earned his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center before joining WashU Medicine as faculty in 2012. In 2019, Dr. Yee became the director of anesthesiology for the Center of Advanced Medicine at South County. In 2021, he was appointed the director of anesthesiology for the ASC and also named associate division chief of anesthesiology for BJWCH.
