The Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology is pleased to announce Dr. Robert Bowen has agreed to serve as Associate Director for the Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship. Dr. Bowen will join Dr. Emmert in recruitment, education, and mentoring CT Anesthesia fellows. Dr. Bowen has demonstrated an excellent track record in education, scholarship, and compassionate clinical care and will be a fantastic addition to the educational endeavors of the CT Division and department broadly.
Dr. Bowen joined our faculty in August as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology after completing dual fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine and Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology here at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine. Prior to his fellowships, he completed residency training in Anesthesiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, New York, where he served as chief resident. His medical degree is from the University of Nebraska and, in addition, he has received a Master of Public Health degree from the Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University in New York, New York. Dr. Bowen works clinically in the cardiothoracic operating rooms and intensive care units at both the academic center and community hospitals.
