Course Description:
Consider the last time you delivered or received feedback as a manager: were you filled with joy or dread? If you fall into that second camp, let’s talk! For many of us, being on both sides of the feedback loop can be anxiety-inducing and challenging. In this session, we will talk through strategies to become more confident and effective in both giving and receiving feedback. Let’s maximize the potential we have in these conversations by approaching them with care and clarity. In this workshop, we will be using an interactive approach to discuss strategies to improve our relationship with feedback.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to describe components of effective feedback and apply multiple techniques in delivering actionable feedback. Learners will also be able to plan opportunities to collect useful feedback, demonstrate how to professionally receive feedback, and implement feedback accurately and effectively.
Target Audience: This workshop is for all Washington University in St. Louis staff who serve as people managers and supervisors.
