We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tracey Wagner Stevens, MD, as Deputy Division Chief of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. In her new role, Dr. Stevens will collaborate with hospital and department leaders as well as members of the division to ensure the delivery of outstanding care to our cardiothoracic patients. She will expand her mentorship of trainees and junior faculty as well as further engage in quality improvement initiatives across the division’s expanding footprint, now including both Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Missouri Baptist Medical Center.
Dr. Stevens is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in our department. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She completed both her Anesthesiology Residency and Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship at Washington University prior to joining our department’s faculty in 2013. Clinically she works in our Center for Preoperative Assessment and Planning (CPAP) and as a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist. Dr. Stevens has made considerable contributions to our department’s medical student education mission as well as process improvement through her involvement in CPAP and the multidisciplinary blood management committee.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Stevens. We are delighted she has accepted this position, and we are looking forward to working with Tracey in her new role.
Best wishes,
TJ and Michael
