Tao Che, MD, joins us as Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and as faculty in the Center for Clinical Pharmacology.

The department received more than $13.2 million from the NIH, and seven faculty ranked in the top 100 for total NIH funding to individual anesthesia principal investigators.

Dr. Bottros recently accepted the position of Chief of Pain Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC). At USC, he will oversee all acute and chronic pain services at Keck Hospital, Los Angeles County Hospitals, and affiliated satellite clinics in southern California.

Brian S. Kim, MD, has found that boosting the number of natural killer cells in the blood is a possible treatment strategy for the skin condition, eczema, and also may help with related health problems, such as asthma.

The Center for Clinical Pharmacology was the recipient of the BMO Harris Bank Spirit of St. Louis Award during the 7th annual Arcus Awards, held Feb. 27 at the Hyatt St. Louis at the Arch.

For the past nine years, performers from both institutions have been partnering to present a free concert in the lobby of the Center for Advanced Medicine (CAM). The event is sponsored by the Arts & Healthcare Program at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and organized by Sarah Colby, the program’s coordinator, and Bradley Fritz, MD, clinical fellow in the Washington University Department of Anesthesiology.
