Dr. James Wirthlin has joined the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis on July 1, 2022. He will have an Instructor appointment in the Divisions of Regional/Ambulatory and General Anesthesiology where he will perform his clinical work.
Dr. Bruno Maranhao joined the Department of Anesthesiology faculty at Washington University in St. Louis on August 1, 2022. He will have appointments in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology and the Division of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Jason Han has joined the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis on August 1, 2022. He will have an appointment in the Divisions of Regional/Ambulatory and General Anesthesiology where he will perform his clinical work.
Dr. Mingchun Liu has joined the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis on August 1, 2022. She will have an appointment in the Divisions of Obstetric Anesthesiology and General Anesthesiology where she will perform her clinical work.
Dr. Mark Arcario joined the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis on July 25, 2022. He will have an appointment in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology where he will perform his clinical work and he will have a research appointment in the Division of Basic Research within the Department of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Anwar Akhras has joined the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis. He will have appointments in the Divisions of Critical Care Medicine and Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology.
Dr. Sunny Lou joined the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis on July 1, 2022. She will have an appointment in the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology where she will perform her clinical work, and she will have a research appointment in the Division of Clinical and Translational Research (DoCTR) with a joint appointment with the Institute for Informatics (I2) within Washington University School of Medicine.
WashU’s Anesthesiology residency and fellowship classes of 2022 gathered throughout the month of June to celebrate each program’s graduates.
Amjad Musleh, MD, will serve as the critical care ultrasound co-director for the Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine Division. He will develop and sustain the point-of-care Critical Care Ultrasound program within the division and across the medical campus.
Every year, as the fourth-year residency class graduates, the Department of Anesthesiology likes to celebrate a select few residents who have made extraordinary accomplishments throughout the year. The graduating class also nominated a faculty member who has made the biggest impact on their clinical training for the annual outstanding teacher award.
