Enyo Ablordeppey, MD, MPH, appointed Co-Director of Surgical 7800 ICU

Enyo Ablordeppey, MD, MPH

The Department of Anesthesiology is pleased to announce the appointment of Enyo Ablordeppey, MD, MPH, as Co-Director of the Surgical 7800 ICU located in Parkview Tower.

In this role, Dr. Ablordeppey will be working closely with the 7800 ICU surgical Co-Director, Dr. Doug Schuerer, and unit nursing leadership to ensure excellent clinical care of patients admitted to this unit. She will also participate in quality improvement initiatives, respond to safety events, and support educational programs for our critical care fellows and APP colleagues. Additionally, as Co-Director of the unit, she will help to facilitate and administratively manage our department’s role in responding to codes and ACTs on the North Campus at BJH.

Dr. Ablordeppey is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine. She received her medical degree and a Master of Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh, followed by completion of an Emergency Medicine residency here at Washington University. She subsequently completed a 2-year multidisciplinary Critical Care Fellowship as well as an Emergency Bedside Ultrasound Fellowship at Washington University. Following her training, Dr. Ablordeppey joined our faculty and practices clinically in both the ICUs and the Emergency Department. She is a beloved educator among trainees and students and serves as Director of our Critical Care Ultrasound Training Program. She is also actively engaged in dissemination and implementation research related to her interest in critical care ultrasound.

Dr. Keeperman, the previous Co-Director of 7800 ICU, is leaving our institution to pursue an exciting opportunity as Executive Medical Director of the Renown Transfer and Operations Center in Reno, Nevado. We thank him for his service to our department, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
