Fritz appointed inaugural Research and Informatics Director for Tele-Critical Care

The department is pleased to announce the appointment of Bradley Fritz, MD, as the inaugural Research and Informatics Director for Tele-Critical Care, effective July 1, 2024.

As the Research and Informatics Director for Tele-Critical Care, Dr. Fritz will be tasked with facilitating knowledge creation in the context of both routine telemedicine care and focused research projects; facilitating dissemination of generated knowledge both internally and externally; designing and overseeing data reporting streams to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency; and optimizing interactions between clinicians and the electronic health record (or other electronic systems). He will work closely with the Medical Directors of Tele-Critical Care and with the nursing leadership of the telemedicine ICU.

Dr. Fritz earned his bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University, and he earned his medical degree and his master’s degree in clinical investigation from WashU Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology and his fellowship in critical care medicine at WashU through the Academic Scholars Advancement Program. He also completed a fellowship in healthcare innovation through the BJC Healthcare Innovation Lab. After completing his training, Dr. Fritz joined the division of critical care, where he currently serves as Associate Medical Director for the Surgery/Trauma/Burn ICU at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
