Women of WUDA is a hub for women-led professional development with a focus on the specific needs of our department. We will host an annual retreat and frequent updates that center around professional development, education, and networking opportunities throughout the year.

Dr. Dolores Njoku has been re-elected to a three-year term as a Faculty-at-Large Representative on the Faculty Practice Plan’s (FPP) Board of Directors.
Julia Downey, Andrea Liefer, and Melissa Prewitt were selected as finalists for the St. Louis Magazine 2025 Excellence in Nursing Awards! The winners will be revealed at an awards reception this summer and recognized in the June/July issue of St. Louis Magazine.
Neuroscientist Juliet Mwirigi, PhD, a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Anesthesiology at WashU Medicine, has been named a Hanna H. Gray Fellow by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI).
The Barnes-Jewish Hospital Medical Staff Association has selected Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Residency Program Director, Allison Mitchell, MD, as a recipient of the Early Career Award.
