Kannampallil named inaugural director of acute care innovation research

Dr. Kannampallil will plan, direct, and coordinate research activities related to technology, telemedicine, and innovation within the department. He will also provide population, organizational, and patient-level data, analysis and decision support to advance innovative and technology-related initiatives for the department.

Kerby named inaugural associate vice chair of innovation

Paul Kerby, MBBS, has been named the associate vice chair for innovation for the Department of Anesthesiology. In this new role, Kerby will work closely with the Vice Chair for Innovation, Omokhaye Higo, MD, MBA, to plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee activities related to perioperative telemedicine and other innovative initiatives within the department.

Omokhaye Higo, MD, MBA, has been appointed as the inaugural Vice-Chair for Innovation for Washington University’s Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Higo will lead innovative initiatives in the department by advancing the current perioperative telemedicine platform, with a view to consolidating the Anesthesiology Control Tower (ACT) and Recovery Control Tower (RCT).
