Dear colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Julie Kosto Drobish, MD, MA, as the Pediatric Anesthesiology Assistant Clinical Director at St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH), effective July 1, 2024. In collaboration with the Clinical Director and the Division Chief, the Assistant Clinical Director will be responsible for clinical operations, implementation of clinical initiatives, as well as scheduling within the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology.
Dr. Drobish joined our team as faculty in 2016 after completing her Doctor of Medicine at WashU Medicine, residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, respectively. She was also an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center from 2014-2016. Dr. Drobish was promoted to Associate Professor at WashU Medicine in 2023.
Dr. Drobish is currently the Medical Director of the Pediatric Liver Transplant Team and has played a critical role in the development of the SLCH Pediatric Liver Transplant Program. She has developed a team of reliable individuals that are committed to the care of children, and has implemented protocols and pathways for the safe delivery of anesthesia to these critical patients. She has also developed educational material surrounding these cases that has been well received by faculty, fellows and residents. In addition to pediatric liver transplant, Dr. Drobish actively contributes to various committees, including the Committee on Admissions, the Pediatric Transplant Steering Committee, and Pediatric Anesthesiology’s PARADE Group.
Internationally, Dr. Drobish has served on the Pediatric Transplant Association 2023 Congress, Scientific Advisory Committee. In addition, she has been invited to major visiting professorships: the International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS) Perioperative Care in Liver Transplantation Virtual Meeting and the Egypt Liver Transplant Club (ELTC) First Forum on Pediatric Liver Transplantation. Locally, she has been featured by the media regarding her role in pediatric liver transplantation.
