We are delighted to announce that Isabella Riordan, MD, has accepted the appointment to serve as Interim Chief of the Progress West Hospital Division of Anesthesiology. She will be assuming the role of Interim Chief as Dr. Chak Lattanand transitions into the role of Vice-Chair for Clinical Operations for the Department of Anesthesiology.
The Progress West Division of Anesthesiology provides community anesthetic services at Progress West Hospital in St. Charles County. The Division provides surgical and procedural anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, twenty-four-hour procedural support for the intensive care unit and emergency department, and leadership roles on the Medical Staff and Medical Executive Committees. The Division is committed to supporting the Progress West Hospital in its mission to improve the health of the people and communities in St. Charles County.
Dr. Riordan is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. She joined our residency program in 2014 where she also served as Chief Resident and remained with the department by joining the Progress West Division in 2018. Dr. Riordan immediately demonstrated that she would be a future leader in the department with her clinical acumen, team-building ability, and organizational skills. She is highly respected by hospital staff, hospital leadership, and our surgical colleagues.
As Interim Chief, Dr. Riordan will also serve as the Director of Anesthesiology for the hospital and be involved with the Credentials Committee and Medical Executive Committee. We are fortunate to have her accept the position of Interim Chief as Dr. Lattanand steps into an important leadership role in our department.
