Jonathan received both his undergraduate degree and medical degree from Tulane University. He then completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Kansas followed by an adult cardiothoracic anesthesia fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. He is currently an active member of the cardiac anesthesia and liver transplant anesthesia teams at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Jonathan is a fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography and serves as the director of Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography.  In this role, he oversees the quality and safety of TEE practices in POD 3. 

Jonathan’s clinical interests include left ventricular assist device education, perioperative TEE education, central-line associated bloodstream infection prevention, and acute normovolemic hemodilution processes in the operating room.
