Qin Liu, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and researcher at the Center for the Study of Itch & Sensory Disorders, recently published findings of specific cells and proteins that control the sneeze reflex that point to treatments capable of slowing the spread of infectious respiratory diseases.
A news release by the School of Medicine details Liu’s findings that could help in the development of treatments for sneezing and for fighting infectious respiratory diseases.
