Dr. Rodriguez-Restrepo appointed Director of Pediatric Regional Anesthesia

We are delighted to introduce Andrea Rodriguez-Restrepo, MD, as the newly appointed Director of Pediatric Regional Anesthesia at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, effective July 1, 2024. This appointment will provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for the pediatric regional anesthesia program.

Advancing Opioid Research: Moron-Conception Lab Trainee to Present at the 17th Annual CounterACT Symposium

Brian Ruyle, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow in the Moron-Concepcion Lab, has been selected to present his research on opioid-induced respiratory depression at the 17th Annual Countermeasures Against Chemical Threats (CounterACT) Network Research Symposium. Additionally, he is one of just 10 trainees awarded a travel grant, providing him with the necessary funds to attend the event in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 3-5, 2024.

Reducing Carbon Footprint in Pediatric Anesthesiology: The Greenhouse Gas Project

The Greenhouse Gas Project, an initiative in the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology, targets various factors contributing to high GHG emissions, with particular emphasis on nitrous oxide. By prioritizing sustainability, the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology is not only reducing its carbon footprint, but also setting a precedent for other institutions to follow—showing how healthcare can play a crucial role in safeguarding the environment for future generations.

Celebrating Dr. Markowitz’s contributions as he departs
