Dr. Ram Volotzky has played an integral role at the Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital for the last 25 years and will be stepping down from his leadership role on October 31, 2019.
Dr. Moron-Concepcion will be responsible for working on strategic planning and goal setting for the division, assisting with mentoring the DBR faculty and overseeing division policies as well as postdoc, graduate student, and resident training within the DBR labs.
The research is the result of a long project started with the hypothesis that mGlu5 is a mediator of pain sensitization and a viable target for a novel class of analgesics.
The Distinguished Service Teaching Awards are presented by Washington University medical students to faculty and house staff in appreciation of exemplary service in medical student education.
