The department is excited to announce the appointment of Danish Jaffer, MD, as the Clinical Director of Labor and Delivery in the Division of Obstetric Anesthesiology, effective January 1, 2025.
The Barnes-Jewish Hospital Medical Staff Association has selected Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Residency Program Director, Allison Mitchell, MD, as a recipient of the Early Career Award.
Members from the Department of Anesthesiology, including residents, fellows, CRNAs, and physicians, recently attended the 56th Annual Meeting of the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) in Denver, Colorado.
Nicole Durko, DO, has been appointed Associate Chief of the Division of Obstetric Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, effective January 1, 2024.
WashU’s Anesthesiology residency and fellowship classes came together in June to celebrate the accomplishments of their graduates.
Members from the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis attended and participated in the Midwest Anesthesia Residents’ Conference (MARC) Annual Meeting on April 14-16 in Milwaukee, WI. WashU had two fourth-year residents, Lauren Lagrimas, MD, and Dima Aladdin, MD, present cases in the competition.
Dr. Danish Jaffer has been selected as the program director of the Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship Program.
Dr. Mingchun Liu has joined the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis on August 1, 2022. She will have an appointment in the Divisions of Obstetric Anesthesiology and General Anesthesiology where she will perform her clinical work.
Anand Lakshminarasimhachar, MD, Amber Benhardt, MD, and Ashley Weinhold, MD, were recently accepted to the 2020-21 cohort of the Academy of Educators at WashU’s Teaching Scholar Program.
