Each quarter, we recognize one of our APPs who has gone above and beyond for their team and patients. Congratulations to our APP of the Quarter!

Our success is intimately linked to the accomplishments of each and every member of our department. Each month, four members are nominated and featured to celebrate their commitment to patient care, education, and research. Congratulations to our featured members!

FAS Employee of the Quarter award (EOTQ) recognizes an individual for performing duties, and/or demonstrating capabilities that extend beyond their normal job expectations. Congratulations to our Employee of the Quarter!

SAFE Accolades is part of SAFE Reporting and is designed to recognize and report positive experiences involving learners, staff, or faculty members. By submitting a SAFE Accolade, you can share instances of outstanding behavior or exceptional service. These accolades are reviewed by department leadership and are highlighted quarterly on our website, celebrating those who go above and beyond in their roles.

In honor of Sandy Hawes, the department has established the Sandy Hawes Award, an annual award recognizing department members who possess excellent communication skills, are supportive in nature, well-poised, dedicated, and go above and beyond the call of duty, all of which Sandy displayed during her 30+ years of employment at Washington University. 

Take 2 is a new initiative and app aimed at fostering a culture of gratitude and positivity within our anesthesiology department. This peer-to-peer program encourages team members to take just two minutes each day to express gratitude toward a colleague. Unlike SAFE Accolades, Take 2 messages are private and shared only between the nominator and the nominee, creating a personal and meaningful way to show appreciation.
