Sydney Nykiel-Bailey, DO, has been selected to participate in the Mid-Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar, a rigorous program offered by the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC).
Dr. Dolores Njoku, MD, was appointed as the Chair-Elect of the Children’s Medical Executive Committee (CMEC).
Brandon Tan, MD, was recently awarded Mentored Research Training Grant from the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) to support his research on lipid modulation of the serotonin 3 receptor.
Dolores B. Njoku, MD, an esteemed clinician, researcher, and mentor, was installed as the Rudolph L. and Mary Frances Wise Endowed Chair in Pediatric Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis on Monday, May 8, 2023.
Brandon Tan, MD, PGY5 and an ASAP trainee, has been selected as one of the 2023 Dean’s Scholars. His project explores how the serotonin 3 receptor—implicated in nausea, depression, anxiety, and psychosis—changes its activity when the lipid environment is altered.
Dolores Njoku, MD, Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Washington University and Anesthesiologist-in-Chief at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, was recently elected to serve a three-year term on the Faculty Practice Plan’s (FFP) Board of Directors, as one of the six Faculty-at-Large Representatives
Dr. Njoku will work closely with other senior leaders in the Anesthesiology Department, with Hospital and University leaders in St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and with institutional leaders in BJC and Washington University School of Medicine broadly.
It is with a mixture of pride and sadness that we bid our friend and colleague Dr. Anshuman Sharma farewell as he leaves Washington University to take up an exciting new leadership opportunity.
Andrea will work closely with Pediatric and CRNA leadership to enhance teamwork and peri-operative care of the pediatric patient.
