We are delighted to announce that over the past few months, we have had five new faculty additions to the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology: Drs. Altshuler, Chang, Dewey, Sanofsky, and Spiro.
Megan Dewey, MD, pediatric anesthesiology fellow, won first place for her case study “Cytoreductive Surgery and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy in a Pediatric Patient” at the Missouri Society of Anesthesiologists Annual Meeting in April 2022.
Dolores Njoku, MD, Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Washington University and Anesthesiologist-in-Chief at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, was recently elected to serve a three-year term on the Faculty Practice Plan’s (FFP) Board of Directors, as one of the six Faculty-at-Large Representatives
Dr. Njoku will work closely with other senior leaders in the Anesthesiology Department, with Hospital and University leaders in St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and with institutional leaders in BJC and Washington University School of Medicine broadly.
It is with a mixture of pride and sadness that we bid our friend and colleague Dr. Anshuman Sharma farewell as he leaves Washington University to take up an exciting new leadership opportunity.
Andrea will work closely with Pediatric and CRNA leadership to enhance teamwork and peri-operative care of the pediatric patient.
Dr. York Jiao has accepted the appointment of Director of Anesthesia at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in St. Louis.
Dr. Kelly Chilson has accepted the appointment to serve as the Interim Chief of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology.
Dr. Chilson, a respected local and national leader in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology, recently accepted the position of Associate Chief of the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology.
