We are pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Liefer as the Chief Pediatric CRNA in the Pediatric Division. In this role, Andrea will work closely with Pediatric and CRNA leadership to enhance teamwork and peri-operative care of the pediatric patient. As the pediatric division continues to grow its footprint, Andrea will play an integral role in pediatric CRNA staffing, orientation, and education.
Andrea has been a CRNA on staff since her graduation from Webster University in St. Louis in 2010. Shortly after joining the general division, she quickly found her home in pediatrics. Andrea is thought of highly by her peers, being named CRNA of the Quarter in 2016. Her desire for knowledge and education continues as she is on track to earn her DNAP from Webster University in October 2021. Andrea’s goals are to bring her passion for education to her team, as well as encourage taking an active role in promoting best practice. She also plans to expand and create opportunities for her pediatric CRNA colleagues so they may take part in collaborative committees and departmental initiatives.

Andrea will be taking over the role from Jason Frantz, who has served in this position since 2012. Jason was the first Chief Pediatric CRNA at SLCH, and in that time, the number of pediatric CRNAs has grown fivefold. Jason has done a tremendous job of providing leadership, building the pediatric CRNA pool, and organizing a staffing structure to cover multiple locations. We are truly thankful to Jason for the leadership and guidance he has provided over the years. After eight years of leadership, he has chosen to turn over his administrative duties to Andrea and return to a staff CRNA position. We would also like to thank Jason for working closely with Andrea over the past few months to provide mentorship and insight into the role.
