An announcement from Drs. Douglas Thompson, Thomas Cox, and Michael S. Avidan:
We are very excited to announce that the Anesthesiology Chief Residents for the next 2020-2021 academic year will be: Ben French, MD, Jason Han, MD, and Megan Para, MD.
These chief residents were selected by a vote of their resident peers and faculty. There are many highly qualified and deserving individuals in the CA2 class, several of whom received many votes.
Meet the Chief Residents
Ben French, MD
Ben earned a BA in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University, a MS in the History of Medicine from Oxford University, and his MD from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is interested in medical education and has been a member of the resident education committee since his CA-1 year. After residency, he plans to pursue a career in adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology.
Jason Han, MD
Jason earned a BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MD from Southern Illinois University. He will be continuing on as a Regional and Acute Pain Management Fellow at BJH after the completion of residency.
Megan Para, MD
Megan earned a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame and an MD from Duke University. One of her favorite aspects of residency at BJH has been working on a quality improvement project for perioperative blood management. She plans to pursue a career in pediatric anesthesiology.
