The department’s Division of Education is pleased to announce that Erin Wood has been named Secretary for the Association of Anesthesiology Program Administrators and Educators (AAPAE), the education division of the Society of Academic Associations of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine (SAAAPM).
In this role, Erin will be applying her detailed-driven skill set by developing a new institutional file structure for all anesthesiology training programs to utilize. She will also be collaborating with her peers throughout the country to establish best practices along with survival guides for others in similar career paths. As Secretary, Erin will be keeping association meeting minutes, acting as a custodian for all records, reports, statements, and serving notices on behalf of the association.
Erin is a Program Coordinator with the Department of Anesthesiology Residency Program at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. During her time at WashU, Erin has been privileged to work with the Academic Scholars Advancement Program (ASAP) and supports the department’s NIH T32 appointees, thriving on the goal of building more robust pathways for future physician-scientists to achieve their goals. In her off-hours, Erin can be found cycling nearby trails or tending the garden with her flock of chickens in downtown St. Louis.
Please join us in congratulating Erin! We know she will represent our school and department at the highest level.
